Moving tips – part 2

Here’s some more moving tips for you, from Brytor International Moving. Got any of your own? Feel free to add them in the comments section.

- Contact your chosen moving company and make an agreement with them. Make sure that you really understand what is included and that your moving company has explained any additional costs.

- Make an earlier reservation. The summer time and end of the month are busier than at other times. Once booked your moving company will be able to provide you with a move schedule to help you plan the final stages of cleaning your home.

- Ensure all your personal documentation – passports, visas and travel tickets, temporary accommodation is kept separately and are not packed with the move. Label items for air, sea, storage, or ‘Do Not Move’

- Think of your pets, this is a very traumatic time. With doors open it is easy for a pet to run off. Make arrangements if required for a pet walker or kennels to look after your pet.

Moving tips – part 1

Moving is an experience we can all relate to. As a Global Relocation Specialist, Brytor International Moving has some tips and tricks to make the big day run smoother. Feel free to add your own moving tips in the comments section.

- If you have items to dispose of, do this well ahead of the move. If items cannot be sold there will be time and possibly costs involved in arranging for their disposal.

- Prepare a budget and anticipate unforeseen costs. You may be moving into temporary accommodation overseas whilst looking for your permanent residence. Your new home may have difficult access or require parking suspending for a large moving vehicle. Talk with your move manager who will be able to help you.

- Have a plan. Know what you’re doing on the day(s) of moving, our foreman will be able to run through the packing process and agree with you which items will need to be packed first.

- Make sure to do things according to your plan. Keeping a schedule lets you keep your deadlines in mind.
